You’re living the life….the active lifestyle it is! You’re eating healthy, go to the gym religiously and avoiding fast food like an annoying bill collector. Yet, you’re not quite where you want to be.

Your weight loss efforts have plateaued, not gaining any muscle or strength or getting sick too often. Something isn’t right. Well, my friend sounds like you need a quality supplement. Supplements are what they sound like; to supplement whatever health issue you have. With that said, here are 5 supplements that are worth your hard-earned money.
 
Fish Oil
 
Unless you’re a sailor, it is likely you don’t consume enough fish oil. Fish that has fish oil that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids helps reduce muscle soreness and lactic acid buildup that occurs due to strenuous activities such as running. If you’re looking to build lean muscle mass, fish oil also contributes to that goal. If you consume to 2 to 3 servings of omega-3 fatty fish per week, then you should be fine. Otherwise, investing in a fish oil supplement is the way to go.
 
Calcium
 
If you ever experience a stress-fracture, then you know how painful that is. To reduce the risk of a stress-fracture or any type of bone trauma from occurring, invest in a calcium supplement. Calcium is a mineral that mainly helps strengthen bones and teeth. Also, studies have linked calcium to weight loss. If you consume 3 servings of dairy products on a daily basis, you’re already getting enough calcium. If not, then I strongly suggest a calcium supplement.
 
Iron

Having low iron levels will cause you to experience fatigue and will negatively affect your running performance. You want to find one that has a good amount protein per scoop and little to no sugar, especially if you’re aiming to build lean muscle. Purchase a protein powder with at least 20 grams of protein and 1 gram or less of sugar per scoop.
 
Multivitamin
 

Multivitamins are the most essential supplements to invest in. If you are thinking multivitamins is just a pill to ensure you get all your vitamins and minerals, you are absolutely right! That is why it is the most essential supplement. Your body needs a stable environment (i.e. sufficient in all nutrients) to build muscle and strength, burn fat or whatever health goal you seek to achieve. Unless you’re eating how they did back in the primitive days (way before fast food restaurants were ruining diet plans around the world), please invest in a multivitamin.
